Chicago, IL - October 16 - 17, 2005

This TFLEx workshop was held October 16 - 19, 2005 in Chicago. The RTA hosted the workshop, with sessions taking place at RTA headquarters in downtown Chicago. The workshop had one main topic - Internal Controls. What are the biggest internal control issues in the industry? With the private sector under the mandates of Sarbanes Oxley, should public finance officers be using some of the concepts? We will also have a round-table with internal auditors to discuss their views.

The workshop started on Sunday afternoon, with a brainstorming session on the state of TFLEx and how members want the organization to work as it moves forward.

Buckingham Memorial Fountain
Grant Park, Chicago
The fountain, one of the largest in the world, is located at Columbus Drive (301 East) and Congress Parkway (500 South) in Grant Park. Every hour on the hour for 20 minutes the fountain produces a major water display and the center jet shoots 150 feet into the air. The fountain's water capacity is 1.5 million gallons.

10/30/2005		RTAMS article The RTA’s Regional Transportation Asset Management System (RTAMS) web site www.rtams.org became available to the public on June 23. RTAMS provides detailed planning and financial information about the transportation systems in northeastern Illinois. Users can search and cross-reference RTAMS’s data sets, including the location of transportation assets and services, public transit ridership, Tollway traffic volumes, planning studies, transit sales tax revenues and political jurisdictions.
